lan interface not showing up in QoS page 1 Year, 11 Months ago
hello my lan interface is not showing up in the bandwidth and QoS page i have to manually edit the firewall in ssh to make sure eth0 which is the lan is correctly set at 100Mb because when ever i had QoS active my nas stopped working properly and all other net was slow the QoS page needs to show all interfaces whether they are external or internal

Hi Louis,

This is a difficult sentence, because you use no points or comma's ...
I am no expert, but it sounds to me like something went wrong during install or update.
Unless you report that previously you did not have this problem.

Maybe answering these questions could give more insight to finding a solution:
Were any error messages reported during install or update ... ?!?
Did you confirm that there is no driver problem with your NIC ... ?!?
What type of NIC are you using ... ?!?
Did you try to replace your NIC ... ?!?

Anyway ... that's all I can think of right now.

Good luck,

John

ok on the Qos page the only interface that shows up is the external wan nic. the other nics have never been on that page even when it was clarkconnect the only interface that is listed is the active external nic which the nic going to the DSL modem. what i am saying is that the only way to edit the settings for the internal lan is to manually edit the firewall conf file. if this page is to have the ability to edit a portion because of the QoS the other interfaces need to be listed on there. i had found out that when i had QoS enabled to control my external bandwidth the speed of my internal network was cut down severely. what it was the QoS had settings on my internal lan that had no business being set at. if options like that are going to be there they need to be on that page and editable not hidden having to manually find the file and edit to adjust settings is a pain.

Hi Louis,

Please keep your sentences short, because it's hard to read when you place everything on 1 line.

It looks like there was some sort of error / problem in the firewall file, that resulted in this issue, or at least it made you aware of this.
I never heard of NIC's or rules that are in the firewall file, but do not show up on the web interface, so I think something is definitely wrong with it.
Unless someone with experience with multi-WAN's reports otherwise and further assist you.

I am unable to help you without getting feedback that I can work with.

Good luck,

John

No error! only the WAN interface is defined on the bandwidth page...because all QOS / Bandwidth type rules are applied leaving from or entering this interface. Bandwidth is not managed on the LAN as this interface is not the bottleneck...usually

Are you sure you have your units right for the bandwidth speeds?

1 Mbps = 1000 kbits/s
1000 kbits/s = 125kB/s (kilobytes)

Therefore typical LAN 100Mbps = 12500 kB/s or 100 000 kbits/s

In /etc/firewall you should have two settings defined EXTIF= and LANIF= can you please check these are right?
