QoS By Local IP on 5.2 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hello,

I'm trying to prioritize one computer's traffic other anothers, but from what I can tell there is a patch that needs to be applied to the kernel to allow the IMQ to see the traffic after NAT processes it. Using 6.2 is out of the option I suppose, because it doesn't support advanced rules (how could you depriciate that when so many use it?), and I don't believe the patch was applied to that kernel anyway. So I guess my question is, how exactly do I apply said patch, and where do I locate it? The one prtested in the thread where I saw the bug was reported was 404'd.

Any help would be greatly appriceated

Hi!, yes still waiting for that issue to be resolved. The fix is straight forward, and requires a kernel config change but I belive the implications on the routing / firewall needed to be tested

I'm also waiting for the advanced bandwidth rule module They are pencilled in for the 6.3.0 final release

Ah, okay, thanks! Is there any ETA on when this will happen, and if it will be a while, how could I do it on my own? Thanks for the help, you are a gentleman and a scholar.

No idea on ETA sorry, perhaps one of the dev team can comment

If you are comfortable with rolling kernels that by all means grab the source, change teh config and rebuild - but it's not for the fainthearted

I've done it before, but I though there was more to it because there was a patch, but the link is dead so I couldn't look. One more question: Is there any way add a port range to the bandwidth manager? I've got around 500 of 'em and I don't really wanna do 'em one by one
