Hello.

I have now just installed a fresh copy of clearos 5.1 sp1 and tried to install zarafa on it. I did all of the steps, but i have a problem:

[root@mail ~]# /etc/init.d/zarafa-server start
Starting zarafa-server: [FAILED]

I don't know what I did wrong, but as it seems I can not get the service to run. I have gone throught the steps as provided, but it didn't help...

Any idea? Is there a log, where I could see something?

Regards,
jausi

Hi

I would also check to see if you have MySQL started. That will give you the error also.

Hello.

The problem was the password for the sql server... I have messed it up

So, now we are on and running. I can also send emails. Just not receive them... On the clearos i see, that the emails came to the server and he delivered them, but they are not in the mailbox. Not in zarafa and not in horde... Did anyone had the same problems? I went through the steps provided in the first posts, and as said, I can send emails with no problem, I just can not receive them.

I also have anothe question - As I have multiple domains - can zarafa be set so, that every user gets their mails in their mailbox? I have set up this before on my old box ( cc 5.9 ent) over webmin in postfix and then I set it up in horde, that the mails are form their domain. Is this here possible or should I further use the old box?

and what I get back is:
#< #5.3.0 x-unix; Usage is /usr/sbin/mailprefilter -s sender@domain -r recipient@domain> #SMTP#

what could that be?

Hi, did you edit /etc/postfix/main.cf? bottom section shown below

Code:

# Mail routing
#mailbox_transport = mailpostfilter      <COMMENT OUT THIS ONE AND REPLACE BELOW
content_filter = mailprefilter
transport_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/transport

# Outbound SMTP authentication
# smtp_sasl_password_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd
# smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes
# smtp_sasl_security_options =
unknown_local_recipient_reject_code = 550
# relayhost =

#ZARAFA
mailbox_transport = zarafa
zarafa_destination_recipient_limit = 1

Did you also add the line to /etc/postfix/master.cf?
Code:

zarafa unix - n n - 10 pipe flags= user=zarafa argv=/usr/bin/zarafa-dagent ${user}

Hello.

yes, I have double checked everything, but still nothing...

I had a problem with sql on the start, when I messed up the password - so I then deleted all of the databases and installed it again. Then I reinstalled (I think - not so home in linux ) it again (that is zarafa) and I can connect to it, and I can also send the email, but not receive them. The error is still the same. In sql I have a database called "zarafa" and inside there are some tables:
abchanges, acl, hierarchy, indexedproperties, lob, mvproperties, names, object, objectproperty, objectrelation, outgoingqueue, properties, receivefolder, searchresults, settings, singleinstances, stores, syncs, usergroup_acl, users, versions

And also the sent emails are stored inside. I don't know where i have screwed it up

Tim, if you have time, could you connect to my box and take a look?

Hi, sorry I don't have time to look into it in detail

From what your saying it sounds like the mail is being successfully 'delivered' by postfix to zarafa who is accepting the mail, and storing it within the database, but for some reason not displaying it...this could be because the user you think you are using is no longer associated with the database it's actually in. How did you reinstall it?

Any clues in the zarafa logs? might also want to check /var/log/maillog for successful delivery
