I have a question.

I want to use Evolution on my Ubuntu machine. But when I configure it to connect to my IMAP server on port 143 all I get is the mail I received before I installed Zarafa.

Do I have to stop my IMAP/POP server, or do I have to do something different.

(I have the same problem with Outlook on my Windows 7 machine)

I hope you can help/advice.

the imap Daemon of Zarafa runs on the Port 236. Look at /etc/zarafa/server.cfg

You need to turn on the zarafa-gateway service as access for IMAP is via the Zarafa MAPI. I've not explained this in the howto as it conflicts with existing ClearOS mail service ports. However to do this so it doesn't you will need to edit /etc/zarafa/gateway.cfg and change them to other values (default is 143 for IMAP, and 110 for POP). Some examples simply include adding an 8 to the front, ie. 8143 for imap...Then run the gateway service, 'service zarafa-gateway start'

You are right. Bas needs the zarafa-gateway.


I had a problem with the automatic start of the zarafa-server. The problem was the acls of the file /etc/zarafa/ldap.cfg. I changed the owner to zarafa:zarafa and now it starts without any problems.
