Zarafa and New install of clearos-community-6.3.0-x86_64 not functioning 11 Months ago
Hello...I just did a new (clean) install of
clearos-community-6.3.0-x86_64
performed all the updates on the system, configured the various server services, purchased zarafa community edition (thank you Tim) and let the market place install zarafa.

This is the second time I have done this with the same results and although there were no install errors, it appears the install is not working.

Since this is a marketplace install, I don't think there are any other operations I need to perform for it to work...is there?

Would those who have had successful installas please let me know what information to provide so that I can find out what has happened?

Thank you.

Hmm it appears the database user and password has not been initialised properly - which is done when app-zarafa-core is installed, what's the output of 'rpm -qa | grep zarafa | sort'?

The only other step is to go to System > Mail Settings and set a mail domain

Hello Tim, thank you for the quick reply.

The only other step is to go to System > Mail Settings and set a mail domain

As with the first time I tried to install from the marketplace, I do not have any Mail Settings entries in my Web Interface...please see attached.

what's the output of 'rpm -qa | grep zarafa | sort'?

Re: Zarafa and New install of clearos-community-6.3.0-x86_64 not functioning 11 Months ago
Rats.

That's a fundamental problem with the release workflow (noted so it won't happen next time), not a Zarafa bug. I just submitted the final release RPMs today in preparation for the 6.3.0 release and this process broke the Zarafa Community install. Why? The "updates-testing" (beta) software repositories are now disabled by default. There are already changes in place in Marketplace to handle this situation, but it's a bit of a chicken/egg scenario with the current state of the beta.

Unfortunately, I'm on a slow/unreliable 3G connection, so I can't provide a sanity checked workaround. Certainly one workaround is to enable the "clearos-updates-testing" repository in /etc/yum.repos.d/clearos.repo and then install Zarafa from Marketplace. In your case, you have already installed the app, so it's a matter of installing any missing dependencies, e.g

Code:

yum --enablerepo=clearos-updates-testing install app-mail-settings

Thank you for the reply Peter.

Would it be best to remove zarafa and then do a market install when the marketplace is ready to handle the situation and the software is out of the testing repos?

If yes, when do you think I should retry....if no...then I will enable testing repos and do the missing dependencies....

As Peter suggested. I ran

Code:

yum --enablerepo=clearos-updates-testing install app-mail-settings

and now the mail settings are in the web UI and the domain is set.

I was still unable to log into the Zarafa user webaccess so, i tried

Code:

yum remove app-zarafa*
yum clean all

and then installed from the marketplace again.

Thinking that the password would initialise this time...unfortunately, still the same problem as the original post.

Any further suggestions? Do you think I will need to reinstall ClearOS again? I ask so I can avoid taking a lot of time transferring my backups over to the server if I am going to need to clean install again.

Thanks

Hi, no need to reinstall, can you try the following from the command line?
Code:

yum remove zarafa*
yum install app-zarafa-community 2>&1 | tee zarafa.log

Then post the contents of zarafa.log. When app-zarafa is installed it *should* setup your database user and password... I can't see how its being installed without failing during the installation somehow

Peter advised in another thread the final release of 6.3.0 maybe out tomorrow so perhaps it is better waiting

Thanks Tim. I did the remove and then the install code and it did not complete. Here is the last part of the output.

Whatever you suggest I do as far as waiting for final or working with this. I am just curious why it does not seem to be installing correctly. Should I be manually installing the missing packages?

Thanks

Code:

Hi Cltech, I think the repo's are still in a state of flux until 6.3.0 is released

try 'yum --enablerepo=clearos-updates-testing install app-zarafa-community 2>&1 | tee output.log'

If it is any help I'm having the exact same issue

Another clue that may help is that even with the mail domain set the following error is shown:
