Username? 3 Years, 8 Months ago  
Hi, I've just installed ClearOS but after booting it asks for a username and password. Im pretty sure I was never asked for a username (did I?) and I have tried with "get" and "clear" with no luck. What should I do?

The installation asked for a password for root. You had to enter it twice...

hence username is root
password whatever-you entered-when-asked

at least that is what happened for my installation...

That wasn't so obvious? Maybe the installer should warn you about that, or your very first login. Or maybe i missed something

Hi, in my set up the actual server installation wouldn't let me into the administration page with the password at first boot but I could log into it from a work station with the root password, then it went into the set up from there, this may be the case here also

I think that was not my case, I just didn't try with the "root"username at first. Now it did work from the server machine (under virtualbox) and I could finish the configuration then
