The COS 6.2 proxy authentication is broken. I'd tried it a week or two back and it only worked with Firefox. I figured well, I'll wait and see if it gets fixed with updates.
Tonight I spent some time experimenting with basic auth, and checking on the forums to see if anyone else had the same issue. What comments do the COS devs have on

What's the squid_unix_group, BTW? How's it different than web_proxy_plugin group?

Isn't this getting over-engineered? I'd've been much more happy to see more engineering in QOS settings.
But no, we get a simplified QOS and more complicated
(and non-functional) proxy_auth.
