Re:Zarafa and the ClearOS 6 Mail Stack - Test Release 11 Months, 1 Week ago
Just to be clear, you can connect Outlook using Imap or pop3 with as many users as you like...without Zarafa-licensed. If you do install the licensed rpm you are able to connect 3 clients using the Zarafa exchange plugin for free, which offers all the normal Outlook benefits such as shared calendars, public folders, global address book etc

Additional licenses can be bought through the Market place

Thank you Tim, I thin we cleared now everything.

Today I have an new Problem an I dont know if I have done anythin wrong or if it is a bug:
If I sent out mails from my ClearOS 6 with a local username like alex@anyhostname.com the mail dont leave the host and is sent to the local user alex. Also with an Alias-name a.gehrer@anyother.com I receive it local.

Other names ar working fine and going to my relayhost.

Im using a relayhost with authentication (sasl-password) like in 5.2

Can anyone test if its only my individuell problem or isit a mailrouting-bug?

Greetings alex

Good Day all... i have this questions about ClearOS 6:

what is the maximum size that zarafa can handle on the mail store.
what it will be the command line to enable to fetch email from a hosting company.
simple questions... but i can't find them....
I really like the new ClearOS 6 looks and specially that i can actually use more memory ram since is 64bits..

Thanks guys....

Hello gerardoandrade,
maximum size of the complete mail store is very high or what do you mean?
Here you can see what Hardware is required for big Zarafa-Storages:
doc.zarafa.com/7.0/Administrator_Manual/...tml/_installing.html

You can install fetchmail via yum: yum install fetchmail and then you has to make a configuration-file, normally /etc/fetchmailrc
where you want to download username, password and where it is on the Clearos system. Maybe you have to use the full name (with maildomain) from the clearos-server (alex@clearos.local)
https://calomel.org/fetchmailrc.html

Hello Alexander....

thanks for the instructions on the fetch, i will deploy it tomorrow...

about the question on the store size, microsoft exchange 2003 has a limit of 75GB and exchange 2010 is 1 TB.

does zarafa has a limitation on the store size?

Kind Regards...

Gerardo.

Never heard from a limitation, the emails are stored in a mysql-Database, so I think you should search the limit from mysql-Databases but we dont talk about some Terabyte.

Alexander it been a time since I looked at Zarafa and I might have attachments confused here. I thought the emails where stored in the file system but my memory is vague on this and it might of been file attachments.

Anyway I agree as there is no limitation in store size and the archiver can help keep a speedy system but also deal with huge stores.
It allows your main store to utilise speedy disk access and you can dump the archive onto slower and lower cost storage.

I would suggest purchasing a pro license though as if you are scaling up the backup and restore facilities are very simple in the community edition.

Hello Stuart,
emails where alway stored in mysql-database and some times ago also attachments where stored in the database, but it was possible to change it to filesystem.
Now its default in the filesystem, you can see the location in the /etc/zarafa/server.cfg

# When attachment_storage is 'files', use this path to store the files
attachment_path = /var/lib/zarafa

And yes, for bigger installations you should have a look to the "Zarafa Archiver"

Still having problems with my install of zaraf beta 2

everything appears to be installed webadmin has the zarafa smtp and mail menu options

all the zarafa options are shown as running

I can't find any error's listed in any of the zarafa logs , without the network reports that were in 5.2 I can't see what ports are being opened if at all, I'm not sure if anything is being sent and nothing is being saved in the database and I cannot save any new contacts.

I may have set up the domain name vs machine name incorrectly I'm not sure here I checked Clear Centre portal and the mx flag is set on

Using Gibson Research shields up scan port 25, 110, are both open so at this point I would assume that Telstra is not activly blocking them

I have set portforwarding on the modem to the server's wan ip address ie port 25 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2, I did this as my voip pbx wont work if the sip, rtp and other required port are not forwarded and thought that it would be the same for zarafa?

I'm not sure where to look now or what logs to post ect if any
