Hi all.
i am running in a problem with the bandwith-limiting modul.

If proxy is running in transparent mode all network users browses over the proxy. right ??

If bandwith-limiting is enabled nothing go proxy cant get page.

If i am not false the bandwith-limiting modul is no working with the proxy.

But here is my, question the most people likes/needs the proxy in transparent mode to see what the people in there net are doing (surfing).

Is there a chance or a way to implent the squid acl to webconfig for using bandwith-limting with squid is in transparent mode ??

I know thats a wish and here some infos

here is the magic --enable-delay-pools --enable-pool

but there are some more stages.

range for known ip's (machine in net) with differnt speed then unkown ip's (guest.-machine in net)

thats where the webconfig-page for spuid have to extendet for bandwith-limiting per range/ip (up/down)

and why not make it as an standart extension for squid.

dont hate me it's only a big wish for many people here !

standart bandwith-limiting should be for the the pop services like http/ftp.... thats going to web !!

this all whats my opinion is about bandwith-limiting

Yes, when using transparent proxy server i cannot limiting a client bandwidth corectly. When i change my bandwidth manager with proxy delay pools, there is some problem. I cannot limiting an upload.

So, what i do now, is disable internal banwidth manager and install WebHTB. It simple as ClearOs bandwidth manager, and i can do limiting per ip client while still running transparent proxy server.

Well, but it would be nice, if the next ClearOs version, can do this without installing any third party bandwidth manager.

Hi Andi,
i need some help from you..as you stated that you have been using webhtb for bandwidth capping..i also followed the steps to install webhtb and successfully done all the setup and can now browse the page and set rules...
but the thing is i can add the rules but the rule does not take effect i.e the client bandwidth is not capped rather the client bandwidth is capped on the basis of the class named "default"..Beyond class named "default" other rules from other class does not take into effect. Here the client is capped to the bandwidth of the class "default".

as you can see on the picture showing the traffic all the traffic is passing through class named default..
My clearos configurations are:
gateway with transparent mode enabled and bandwidth manager turned off.

please help me get this problem solved..do i need to do something else beyond installation of webhtb itself???
any help will greatly be appreciated.

i have problem with webhtb. I activating flexshare for file sharing so client have access to their department public folder. but i think webhtb also limiting transfer rate to public folder. i have put all samba IP port on src. but it still doesn't work.

as WebHTB please install the clearos, as is the procedure?

Lol, of course clearos already installed just wanna ask web proxy to have a date with bw limiter.
