ClearFoundation

Forums
ClearOS ClearFoundation and ClearCenter have moved to the new website ClearOS.com (https://clearos.com). We are making this change in order to improve search and exposure of ClearOS to the world. There are several improvements that are being made and some that are still on the table for development. The forums are now live on clearos.com and locked on this site until all the redirects are in place. If you have issues using the new site, feel free to ask on the #clearfoundation room in IRC chat on freenode.net or engage with a chat agent on the site if they are around. Our goal is to complete this step so that we can be properly ready for the types of communication that will be essential for the release of ClearOS 7!

So today I was reading over spacewalk.redhat.com/ and I thought to myself how awesome would this be to implement into clearsdn to manage updates over several clearos systems and manage conf files over several boxes.

Presently I have Two boxes now in other countries which I am admining and from an MSP style perspective it could be useful for admins who have stack of systems to look after

Food for thought

I got to use a friends deployment serer which is running a combination of puppet and spacewalk on centos

So I am sure it will run on clearos

When I get some time over of the xmas break I might have a crack at getting it working, the whole oracle 10g db side of it looks a but daunting

Anyone interested have a read over this

I know this thread is pretty stale...but just fyi:

You do not need to use Oracle to setup and use Spacewalk.

On the other hand, I use Cobbler and puppet to do the same. Thinking on making a puppet install/configure script.

Thread revival time....

So I ended up building one the other day, on centos 6 with postgre I have to say.... its awesome. The client installed on 6.3 pro without any problems.

Currently building up the channels for it now.

Presently I am thinking I might use the kick start side of it for deployment so I can provision xen clear guests and control my patching which should be nice.

I have looked at puppetlabs but the cost puts me off somewhat.

Followed these two guides
