This is more like a suggestion..

You could separate the forum, or make a specific section for the 6.2 release.
This would make easier the reading and the understanding of the problems and solutions for this new release.

If its going to be done it would to be done soon otherwise it would be an admin nightmere

Hmm but then you would have twice as many forums for each sub category...or sacrifice the ability to search by sub category and stick all 6.2 posts in one forum. Neither of which I think is a good idea?

I think there needs to be more emphasis on posting which version you are running

Eventually 5.2 will become less prevalent and 6.2 will become the norm...we're in a phase of transition!
