TOPIC: Using a block of IP addresses on a single NIC
#12078
Using a block of IP addresses on a single NIC 2 Years, 11 Months ago
Hello,

Our ISP has assigned us a block of IP addresses for us to use. Our goal is to use clearOS as our firewall for this whole block of IP addresses.

On our existing firewall we can just assign all of the IP addresses in the block to a single interface. However in looking at the IP configuration this does not appear to be possible. I have done some poking around in the forums and I want to make sure I am not making an incorrect assumption about something I have read.

My initial IP address in the block is xx.xx.xxx.217 with the other addresses in the block being 218-221.

From what I have found I believe I can go to the Advanced firewall configuration and I can add rules there to handle the other IP addresses in this block.

Is the a correct way of reading the documentation or is there something else I would have to do in order to accomplish what I am trying to do?

I believe you now need to set up virtual interfaces for each of the extra IP addresses. See here under "Virtual IPs" for scant information.
