Internal computer blocked - need help 1 Year, 6 Months ago
I have set up a ClearOS version 5.2 systems on my network.

So far everything is going great minus one thing that I need help with.

I have a computer on my local network that is running a PBX. I have been able to connect to the PBX server via its IP address to its web interface. All was well until I enabled the proxy and content filtering that I finally got running as I want it for all the users.

Now I am unable to connect to the PBX server, if I turn off the proxy and content filtering I am able to access it again.

A few additional bits of information.

The PBX is completely on the internal network, it is on the same network as the ClearOS server.

The PBX requires a secure connection with I am thinking may be a part of the issue... https

Currently I disabled the Antivirus filtering, Anti Fishing, protocol filtering, and Intrusion detection and prevention and am still unable to access the PBX server.

I added the PBX server to the Exception Site List, and unchecked everything in the black list and parse list.

Still no luck.

In the proxy setting page if I select disable content filtering it still does not work...

The only way I can access it is bye turning off the proxy.

Any Ideas... The only think I can think of is that since the PBX requires https:// to connect... it is not working. I have a routers and switches and other devices that I connect to just fine but don’t require https:

Thanks in advance.

Are you running in transparent proxy mode or not?

Yes, I added the records to DNS

If the proxy service is off, I can access it with the IP address and the domain name, which ever one I choose to type.

If the proxy is turned on I can not access the PBX with an IP address or its domain name.

I am not running in transparent mode. I prefer the user logging feature over the transparency.

That being said whether the user authentication is, and when it is off, I still can’t access the server if the proxy service is running...

Another point that may help is that when ever I connect or try to connect to the PBX server either by IP address or domain name…. I think it reaches the server because it then automatically adds the https:// in the front and also automatically adds the proper port number.

Which I think the server is auto appending this info, when something connects to it.

Which might mean that it is finding the server but either the https protocol or port 8443 is not working with the proxy service.

The full address looks like this: https:// 192.168.xxx.xxx:8443

You have more than likly tryed this also, but hay Im trying

You say you have add the site to the content filters exseption list. How about the "Web site bypass" bit at the bottem of the "webproxy" in webconfig?

Wow... ClearOS s great.

I rebuilt the server completely and it took all but 30 minutes to try and fix the problem. I also added the exceptions that you mention.

After having done that for some reason the internal PBX is now reachable internally.

Much Appreciated for all your assistance and suggestions.

Fortunately the server is still just in a test environment with no real users connected.

Pleased to hear it

Iv actualy convinsed my work to test the ClearOS web content fillter only about a week ago.
And I to untill now have missed this option.

It might help sort a few problems that im having with it, as we have two Gateways (B Band connections) one for the web traffic to and from a VM ClearOS and the other for every thing elce. Its sort of a test backup line.

The problem that I have is with a support app namedSysaid. My problem is when i try to take over a clients pc the software try's to connect though the wrong connection.

Ill see if this fix's it and report back
