I have installed my webserver Clear OS 5.2. It's running good. I can reach my ftp site.
But now i want to put my own web site on the server. I read that i should put them in /var/www/html, but i don't know how to copy them there. I am a tipacal windows man.

You can enable either file share (Samba) or FTP to upload your website files...another alternative is to use WinSCP if you're a Windows user.

On another similar note, we should probably have at least one CMS option to make putting up a simple website brain-dead simple. I like what the guys over at Concrete5 are doing. I'll try and find a day to wrap that up and make it an option in the Marketplace.

Any other CMS that you want to suggest? Volunteers also welcome!

Hi Ben,

You package this in one day. Pff respect! To me this looks extremely difficult. How is this done.

I have activated samba and now i can see one directory on myClear OS server, I think the home directory of my username.
How can i get to /var/www/html/ to put my webpage files there ?

Ben

If you can package Concrete5 for inclusion in the market place I'll be a huge fan as it make things so much easier for me.

On a different note I'm also having problems with uploading to /var/www/html , I think my problem is LDAP and Flexshare? configuration. I cant log in using root account with for ftp upload and I cant figure out how to make y user an administrator so I can see the html directory and not the user directory which then means I have to move the file to the correct location.

When I fix this problem I plan to install concrete5 manually and provided the site works as planed I'll upgrade the professional trial to a paid subscription which should give me e-mail support for basic problems.

Here's how I would add a website.

Flexshares
1. Setup a new flexshare at Server / Flexshares.
2. Name it concrete5 and enable permissions for Web, File Sharing, FTP, etc. (File sharing makes it easy to add new files.)
3. After configuring services, enable the Flexshare
4. Your files will now reside at /etc/flexshare/shares/concrete5 which is symlinked to /var/www/virtual/concrete5

Webserver
1. Setup the Apache server at Server / Web Server.
2. Name the site the exact name you gave the flexshare, concrete5.
3. Set your prefs for PHP, SSL, ports, etc.
4. After configuring the options, enable the site.

Hope this helps. It's a great way to host multiple sites & wikis easily.
