Re:Setting up mail (Zarafa) 10 Months ago
Hi Tim

Im trying to setup Thunderbird with iCal sync, i have followed the this link but noting is happening.....

My test setup is as such:

Zarafa Community Server

Thunderbird as Email Client Setup: IMAP

Sunbird Calendar.

When i configured Sunbird as per link, my install ical port on Zarafa is default to 8008, i have allowed it on the firewall.
Dont i need to authenticate as well?? Or am i missing something really simple

You can backup the Community version using mysqldump (located in system-mysql). If you want brick level backup (per user) then you need the Professional version. See steps here

Hi Tim, I can't seem to be able to access the system-mysql databases.

The information in the link you provided doesn't work anymore.
# For system-mysql (find your system password in /etc/system/databases)
/usr/share/system-mysql/usr/bin/mysqldump -uroot -pPASSWORD -v --quick --single-transaction zarafa | \
gzip > /var/tmp/zarafa-mysql-dump.gz

first /etc/system/databases where I should look for the root password doesn't exist on my system. I also don't have a usr/share/system-mysql folder or file so that doesn't work either.

I have been searching through the forums but can't seem to find anything that can help me.

Could you help me in the right direction?

Hi Michel - sorry missed your reply...you can find your database password in /etc/zarafa/server.cfg (mysql_password)

Those instructions were for 5.2...you can use the following in 6.3 (note the zarafa database uses the zarafa user, not root):-
Code:

/usr/clearos/sandbox/usr/bin/mysqldump -uzarafa -pPASSWORD -v --quick --single-transaction zarafa | gzip > /var/tmp/zarafa-mysqldump.gz

Hi Gravit8, you can configure local mailbox forwarding rules using your mail client (Outlook for example), or from within Webaccess

I really appreciate your help and support!.

ClearOS with your zarafa app will replace my Windows server with Exchange at home very soon.

Hi, the Community version of Zarafa support the ability to share and open other user calendars...however if you want the 'multi user calendar' view where users calendars are shown next to each other in a form similar to Exchange, you need Small Business or Professional edition

Re:Setting up mail (Zarafa) 9 Months, 1 Week ago
One other question. During my attempt(s) to migrate my old imap mail store to Zarafa, it would seem that the database kept growing with each transfer to the point where it is about 200 mb when it should be about 17. I haven't been very successfuly with trying to get the phpmyadmin included with clear to connect to the zarafa database, to attempt to clean everything out so that I can start the database fresh. Is there a way to do it from the command line that anyone is aware of?

Thanks

Well installed 6.3 and bought Tims zarafa, however there's something that's just not right here,

1. When I goto web access I cannot login with any username and I get this error "Unknown MAPI Error: MAPI_E_DISK_ERROR"

2. Clicking Windows networking I get "Sorry, initialization can take some time. Please come back in a minute or two"

Any ideas???

Hi NeoNapsterrrr,

Sounds like some disks are not mounted. Did you use the stright forward wizard when you installed CO 6.3? Or did you take care of the partition yourself?

Try putty to remote connect to a console and see if you can ls (list contents) of al the maps located from the root.
