i need to setup a share in such a manner that it can accessed via the internet, with the ability to download and upload files. internally the share is accessed via windows sharing and i can get to the web share internally aswell. attempts from the internet are not successful.

Hi,
I'm not sure because i never used this but don't you have to open a port in your incoming firewall?

Search the forum for WebDAV ot perhaps DAV. It may be your answer but I'm not sure if Win7 supports it. XP certainly does. I would not open a Samba share to the internet.
Alternatively you could try opening up your flexshare with FTP access.

have looked at the how to for webdav. the scenario i have is, my customer wants his customers to access his website and then be redirected to the office server to access files and folders. i figure keeping everything web based would simplify things.

i think i have a found a solution. FTPbox.org does what dropbox does only with FTP. looks like a more secure solution.
