TOPIC: Access flexshares from iPad?

Access flexshares from iPad? 2 Years, 2 Months ago
I thought WebDAV would solve this nicely--however it looks like that feature has been scrapped due to a permissions incompatability.

Anyone have a solution? Looking for something simple.

Thanks in advance.

What incompatibility are you talking about?

The feature has not been scrapped - I use it on my LAN for http. Instructions on how to do it are here. The bug tracker does highlight a security issue. Since I trust myself I am not bothered. It is up to you.

I had read the instructions. Just seeing if there is a simpler way that others use.

Not that I update flex shares frequently via webconfig, but if I did after adding WebDAV support it would cause write problems until I then enabled it again. In other words part of flexshare webconfig is broken by enabling WebDAV. Considering I have lots of flexshares, and I might not remember this issue years from now I would prefer not to break stuff if there is a simpler way.

On the web section of flexshares if you enable index.html should that not make the directory browsable via safari? When I do that safari still does not see anything when pointed to that address except the default clear page. Perhaps that page is an index file I need t remove?

It is a couple of years ago that I set this up so I don't remember the details. I certainly did nothing with the index file. In the webconfig > Server > File and Print > Flexshares, Web tab there are two forms of the Server URL for the flexshare shown. I know I can only use the first form. It works with Firefox and IE. I do not use Safari.
