Tim as always you are a life saver it seems to have worked, just have to wait and see if the tech at the company where the server comes back to me with some feedback, but the server seems to have taken the change so thanks again
I would like to setup my own mail server because the public server that im using at the moment cannot handle the emails we send and recive, we can only send abot 500 emails every hour and we are now 100 users which means everyone can only send 5 emals every hour and that is why im thinking of my own mail server.
I've in the meantime registered another domain that I can use to try out ClearOS before i move my main domain from my isp to my server.
I've also got a public ip address that I can use.
Could someone point me in the right direction on how i can archive this.
my network will be something like this
Router--->ClearOS--->switch---->PC's
if theres any other suggestions on how I can go about this, i will highly appreciate
I would like to install justniffer to get the user based file upload information.
We basically want to track all the files uploaded by all the users in the network (LAN). we need to know what is the filename uploaded. When we check the HTTP Headers (for POST methods), we dont get any file names.
Finally the question is, How do we get the list of file names uploaded by any user in the network (LAN),possibly, with the file information (like file size, type, etc).
Justniffer is giving all those information, but i am unable to install it on Clearos 5.2.
Please help me to fix this issue. or Is there any other tool which will do the same i m happy.
Im not sure about you guys but I would sure like to know why this limitation is there. I mean surely there are others out there that want to make specific allowances like me
I'm hoping someone can help me here, A company that I put a ClearOS 5.2 server in as a gatway has banned youtube.com in their acceptable use policy as employees were abusing the Internet all day rather than working, Now it just so happens that they also need access to specific clips on youtube.
So with that I tried to add the links of the specific youtube clips to the exception list in the content filter, but sadly It doesnt seem to allow this? I mean I can put any normal link in minus the * but when i try and add the link to my youtube clip www.youtube.com/watch?v=shmj6_q_wjI being the link, it refuses to add it to the exception list.
My question is: is there another way to allow just those specific youtube clips whilst still blocking youtube itself?
My email flexshares aren't working and I don't know where to start looking. No forum posts or user guide (that I can find, and I've looked hard) mention a log other than /var/log/system so I also can't do much investigating.
I send a message with an attachment (e.g. PDF) to the email address quoted on the flexshare email properties. It appears to be delivered:
Code:
Delivered: <4C7F5F26.5020908@emaildomain.com> to mailbox: user.flexshare
But nothing ever appears in the flex share. The flexshare email properties "save attachment path" is currently set to "Root directory" and "save attachments" is set to "automatically poll at 5 minute intervals" (and it's enabled )
Anyone know how to start fault finding? Should there be a cron job for the automatic poll? both root and flexshare users have no crontab...???
I am looking around and just not seeing what I am looking for maybe I am just blind. I currently have a clearos 5.2 gateway setup with 2 wans. I would like to setup a OpenVPN tunnel to an existing server and route from my private lan space certain devices and/or protocals thru the tunnel. I have not yet seen a post here while searching but that could be from incorrect terminology. So basicly looking to accomplish the following:
1 Setup a OpenVPN tunnel thru 1 of the wans.
2 Route certain machines in my private lan space thru the tunnel i.e. machines 192.168.1.201-205 all trafic thru OpenVPN tunnel
3 Route certain site requests thru tunnel from any of machines on my lan space i.e. www.Ineedtolearnmorelinux.com
4 Possibly route traffic for a certain country thru tunnel(I did see some talk about blocking certain countries so the next logical step would be to setup some rules for routing to certain ip blocks)
Hope my question is clear enough I am only on my 2nd cup of coffee this morning...
