I misunderstood your post...I thought you had a ClearOS Premium subscription with our IDS updates and you just wanted to know how to assign the subscription to your registered server.
You must have been confused by the response you got, essentially saying "we don't provide free support" after me directing you there. My bad...shouldn't post responses late at night
I can't duplicate this...but there's a quick way to find out what's going on...go to the 1:1 NAT page in webconfig and hover over the enable/disable button for this rule that is broken. Right click on your mouse and click on "Copy Link Location" or something similar to that.
Paste that back here in the forums, and I'll have a look.
Thanks for the feedback..sure...we deserve (hiccup, some of) it. Next time, though...when you have a rant or some really negative feedback, if you could just end your post with:
and I sure as shit would be delighted to buy them a chicken dinner
it would make my day. Even if you don't really feel like buying me a chicken dinner....I just *love* the expression!
Admittedly, the home user purchasing services that are available in 5.x is a bit of a fringe case. Anyone using ClearOS Community 6.2 can absolutely purchase content filter updates, IDS updates, etc. from the Marketplace. That's not the issue.
What tied us up in launching 6 is that until we have a dedicated Home Edition, the Community actually serves two archetypes...well, probably many more, but I'm staying on topic of your question - Home user and tech-savvy business that is declines/accepts risk of not having commercial supported platform.
The home user would like a lower price point if it meant updates every week instead of day....the business using Community Edition would happily pay for the service, and want a higher level of service updates. But there's no way (currently) to differentiate the two until we can get enough momentum, cycles and community contributions to validate putting out a Home Edition.
So...for the time being, I don't have a great answer for the 'home user'...
Having said all that, Marcel...anyone who contributes as much as you, Tim, herballizard, Dirk...(I'm missing a few, I know) etc., please ping us and don't feel shy in asking us for some 'stuff'. It used to happen regularly when we were ClarkConnect...we're not too big or stuffy to throw some swag around....hmmm...wish we had ClearOS Devel Team bobbleheads to hand out instead of 0's and 1's.
