The ClearOS Enterprise 6.1.0 beta 1 release is here! This release will kickstart the process of creating a stable base system: installer, RPM packages, users, groups, system tools, LDAP, network, firewall, framework, and Marketplace. At the same time, we will start rolling out more apps like Web Proxy and Web Access Control found in this beta 1 release.
You can find download information for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions in the Release Notes. Enjoy!

There is a small typo which made its way in the release note page: The release date should read September 22, 2011 and not September 22, 2012 (At least, I think so).

I don´t understand, the Core Os is stuck at 6.0 alpha since monts while others are packing another 6.1 release beside? Is this a joke?

@a5247424 I'm sorry that you are upset but let me explain some things here. Peter is right, Core is not stuck at 6.0 but is at 6.1. We have a current repository with all of their updates built regularly and automatically as our upstream provider releases errata on 6.1. This happens automatically on our backend servers at great cost to the foundation so feel free to contribute. We have a number of people who are working on contributing on the 6.1 code and we need more volunteers to push 6.1 forward. There are less than a dozen packages that need to be worked on but we need more help, especially with mirrors.
If you have a mirror that you would like us to push the code to, let me know and we'll get it set up. 6.1 core exists only as packages at this point but we will roll it all together when it is done. The total mirror size needs about 90 GB for the whole of ClearOS Core.
Once we get the dozen packages done we can push them as well and cut 6.1 Core as an ISO.

Thanks for releasing this beta!
Just experiment a bit with BTRFS. I found the btrfs-progs in the extra repository and installed it. It's a very experimental version.
ClearOS 6.1 Enterprise it's installing and running fine, nice boot screen, i'm positive! Now we have to wait for more modules to be released.

Is there a way to create something like an RSS feed to the main blog?

Hi ClearFoundation
Since I love you guys so much I'd like to create something like an RSS feed to any blog posting (not just a particular topic). I've looked around but can't seem to find such an option.

yes i noticed that its delayed...
I think we have to wait a few years before we can expect a stable version of BTRFS. With which kernel will be RHEL 7 shipped? What are your thoughts Peter?
